#  Grad student Sophia Sánchez-Maes awarded the Theory-Experiment Cross Training Fellowship (TEX) from the John Templeton Foundation

 **Sophia Sánchez-Maes** has been awarded the Theory-Experiment Cross Training Fellowship (TEX) from the John Templeton Foundation.

 Under the fellowship, Sophia is studying solar plasma physics, focusing on flares, from both X-ray instrumentation and MHD simulation perspectives. Her experimental and theoretical collaborators are **Dr. Christopher S. Moore** and **Dr. Kathy Reaves**. As part of this work, she is Co-PI of the Swift Solar Activity X-Ray Imager (SSAXI-Rocket), scheduled for a Spring 2024 launch.
