The physical conditions and material characteristics of these gas and dust reservoirs play fundamental roles in the formation and early evolution of all planetary systems, including our Solar System. To investigate the properties of these disks, he conducts observations with (sub)mm/radio-wavelength interferometers and analyzes the data with radiative transfer modeling tools.
