Ray Jayawardhana (Harvard Astronomy PhD 2000) named President of Caltech
Congratulations to Ray Jayawardhana (Harvard Astronomy PhD 2000) who was named President of the California Institute of Technology, to start in summer 2026.
In his current position he serves as Provost and Professor of Physics and Astronomy at Johns Hopkins University.
While at Harvard, Dr. Jayawardhana was advised by Lee Hartman and Giovanni Fazio. His dissertation was on "Circumstellar dust: From protostars to planetary systems."
