Kenzie Nimmo

Kenzie works to understand fast radio bursts (FRBs), extremely luminous millisecond-duration radio transients originating in distant galaxies. She uses a wide range of radio techniques, from very long baseline interferometry (VLBI) to precisely localize FRBs and study their environments, to high-time- and high-frequency-resolution observations that probe their emission physics and the plasma through which their signals travel. She is a member of the CHIME and CHORD collaborations, where she works on data analysis, develops new techniques for studying fast radio transients, and helps build new radio instrumentation and capabilities to explore the transient sky.
